Frequently asked questions
The things families ask us most.
How quickly can the burial take place?
In Islam the deceased is buried as soon as possible, usually within 24 hours, out of respect. We work quickly through washing, shrouding, documentation and cemetery booking so the Janazah is not delayed. Where a coroner is involved, timing depends on their process, and we keep you updated throughout.
Can family attend the washing?
Yes. Ghusl is carried out by trained teams of the same gender as the deceased. Close family members of the same gender may attend or assist if they wish. We explain what to expect beforehand so you feel comfortable.
What if the death happened abroad?
We arrange repatriation from the UK to other countries, including all embassy paperwork, documentation, coffin and airline arrangements. Contact us and we will guide you.
Do you deal with hospitals?
Yes. We liaise with hospital bereavement offices and mortuaries and arrange collection as soon as the necessary paperwork is released.
Do you arrange cemetery bookings?
Yes. We book the grave, prepare all documentation and coordinate the burial, transport and grave preparation.
How much does it cost?
We believe in transparent, honest pricing with no hidden charges. Costs depend on the cemetery and the specific arrangements. As a community service we keep costs as low as possible, and can advise on assistance where it is needed. Contact us for a clear breakdown.
Can you help if there is a coroner?
Yes. We regularly liaise with coroners, medical examiners and police. We explain each step, handle communication on your behalf, and keep you informed until your loved one is released.
What if the deceased has no family?
No one should be left without a dignified Islamic burial. If someone passes with no family, or their family cannot be reached, we can step in to ensure Ghusl, Kafan, Janazah and burial are carried out with full dignity.
